    Position Summary


    This position is responsible for testing cementitious products produced by CTM consisting of but not limited to; Cement Treated Base, Cement Stabilized Sand, Roller Compacted Concrete, Permeable Base and slurry for soil stabilization.



    • Develop and maintain up to date knowledge of all governing specifications for products (I.e. ASTM, D.O.T., C.O.G., FAA, etc.).
    • Maintain current knowledge of materials to produce CTM products; base, sand, stone, admixtures, cement, etc.
    • Generate mix designs and oversee plant adherence to designs.
    • Spot check for proper design, scale weights, moisture content, admixture proportions, calibration verification.
    • Verify and maintain that all raw materials meet job specifications and CTM standards.
    • Help maintain all raw material volumes and determine their volumes at the end of each month.  
    • Perform physical tests to verify product quality at the plants, job sites and lab.
    • Observe and record activities of outside testing agencies and contractors as they relate to effect both the fresh and finished products.
    • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with customer, inspectors, sales, distributors, vendors and production personnel.
    • Keep daily logs of activities and observations.  Report any negative findings or concerns to management.
    • Note misuse of products by drivers, contractors or customers and take corrective action to educate and prevent reoccurring situation.
    • Investigate complaints regarding product quality or quantity and prepare documentation of corrective action, if needed.  Report concerns to management.
    • Create and maintain a safe environment not only for yourself but others.
    • Create and maintain good housekeeping practices in the lab and at the plants.

    Minimum Education and Experience

    • Minimum high school diploma with excellent math skills including a working knowledge of statistics and geometry.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
    • Computer literacy is required; Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Minimum five years of experience in the construction industry; engineering, contractor, production in related fields, testing laboratories.  Inexperience can be offset with appropriate college courses and or related degree.
    • Assist sales in bid and submittal preparation and materials related to sales need.
    • Generate ideas to improve quality and increase margins in all operations.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Completion of ACI concrete technology courses through level II
    • Working knowledge of ACI and ASTM standards and THD and COG specifications
    • Ability to teach
    • Customer service focus to provide solutions to meet/exceed customer requirements
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Good verbal and written communication skills with internal and external customers
    • Bilingual in English/Spanish is beneficial
